Dr. Liheng Cai is an Associate Professor at the University of Virginia School of Engineering with joint appointments in Materials Science and Chemical Engineering and courtesy appointments in Biomedical Engineering and Chemistry.  A recipient of the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE), American Physical Society John H. Dillon Medal, and various rising star and research awards, he also serves as Director of the UVA Soft Biomatter lab that focuses on the interface of soft matter and biology.
